Four members of the Johnson Lab attended the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. Florie Patterson, Sofia Phucas, and Sophie Connolly presented posters reporting the exciting recent results of their research on lizard moprhology and gene expression, and Michele Johnson chaired the Nominating Committee for the Society.

In October 2024, Johnson Lab members were invited to the Witte Museum as Saturday Visiting Scientists. Jack, Akshaya, Sophie, and Dr. Johnson taught children (and their families) to look closely at nature using microscopes, and we visited with a friendly T. rex while we were there!

In May 2024, Dr. Simone Meddle of the Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh, visited our lab at Trinity University. We collaborated on a whirlwind project studying lizard gene expression as a function of artificial light at night, and showed Simone some of the wildlife of central Texas!
